I would like to thank the POA President, Mr. Michael Murphy, and the committee for putting my name forward, and for the General Assembly for electing me to the post of POA Chairman.
My wife and I, first came to VDL in 1987, we immediately fell in love with the resort and the surroundings. In 1999, we purchased our first house, we then built and moved into our current villa in 2001.
In 2007, I was invited to join the POA committee and I served five years which saw a variety of interesting changes to the resort. There was the takeover by the new management at the time and he POA were instrumental in working with them to ensure the rights of the property owners were upheld.
I am a keen golfer, and both myself and my wife, joined VDL golf club in 2000 and I was honoured to be captain in 2014. I served a further two years on the golf committee where we organized several functions and helped the members in all aspects of their daily lives within the golf club. I am now involved in organising the Tuesday rollups where all members and their families can join in social golf games.
My other passion is cycling. In 2012, together with other members, we started the BIOs cycling club. The BIOs has proved very popular with members, their friends and family.
I care passionately about Vale do Lobo. We are blessed to be living in this wonderful resort which also has a superb social life which separates us from all other resorts. Our job within the POA Committee is to continue the good work carried out by my predecessor, Mr Conor Donnelly and to introduce new ideas and to improve the living experience for all owners and their families. Our relationship with the new VDL management and Infralobo management is paramount, and together, we will ensure the resort is run and maintained to the high standards we have all come to expect.
